HARAHAN, La., June 17, 2011 – During its annual convention held recently in Quebec City, Ducks Unlimited Inc. elected E.J. Deubler of Harvey, La., to its national board of directors.

"E.J. has been a DU member and close personal friend for more than 30 years," said John Newman, DU president. "He's one of the most passionate supporters and dedicated conservationists you could meet, and he'll be a great asset to the team."

Deubler is the president of Deubler Electric Inc. in Harahan, La. He's been a DU volunteer for more than 20 years, volunteering at the local, state and national levels. Deubler has represented DU as area, zone, and district chairman, state convention chairman in 2005, and state chairman for Louisiana in 2009. He's also a member of DU's Council of State Trustees and National Delegates.

"This is more than an honor. It's an opportunity to make a real difference for the wetlands and waterfowl of North America," Deubler said. "As a native of Louisiana, I've seen first-hand how vital marshes are – not only to waterfowl, but to people and communities across the continent. DU is the best in the business at conserving these habitats, and I'm proud to be a part of that work, not only here in Louisiana, but on a national scale as well."

Ducks Unlimited is the world's largest non-profit organization dedicated to conserving North America's waterfowl habitats. DU is governed by a volunteer board of directors and senior officers.

"As a member of DU's board of directors, E.J. will help guide DU's future decisions and conservation activities. It's a significant commitment and a pivotal position, and E.J. will bring considerable talent to the table," said Newman.

Ducks Unlimited is the world's largest non-profit organization dedicated to conserving North America's continually disappearing waterfowl habitats. Established in 1937, Ducks Unlimited has conserved more than 12 million acres thanks to contributions from more than a million supporters across the continent. Guided by science and dedicated to program efficiency, DU works toward the vision of wetlands sufficient to fill the skies with waterfowl today, tomorrow, and forever.
