WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind., June 21, 2011 – During its annual convention recently in Quebec City, Ducks Unlimited Inc. elected James R. "Jim" Prough of West Lafayette, Ind., to its national board of directors.

"Jim has a long history as an active DU supporter and conservation leader," said John Newman, DU president. "He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team, and we're proud to have him on board."

Prough is President of JP2 Risk Management Inc., which services crop insurance clients in Illinois and Indiana.   JP2 also provides grain consulting services for farmers and is the risk manager for Wright Farms in Covington, Ind.  Prough has been a DU volunteer since 1999. In addition to his work with Ducks Unlimited, Prough serves on the board of directors for the Alexandria Conservation and Gun Club.   Jim and his wife Jean are also supporters of Purdue University athletics through the John Purdue Club and Purdue's President's Council.

"This is more than an honor. It's an opportunity to give something back. The resources that Ducks Unlimited puts on the ground have a positive impact – not only for waterfowl, but for millions of other wildlife and people too," said Prough. "I'm glad to help further DU's mission on a national scale and look forward to working with the other board members to do that."

Ducks Unlimited is the world's largest non-profit organization dedicated to conserving North America's waterfowl habitats. DU is governed by a volunteer board of directors and senior officers.

"As a member of DU's board of directors, Jim will help guide Ducks Unlimited in our future conservation work. It's a significant commitment, and a pivotal position in Ducks Unlimited," said Newman. "Jim is the kind of experienced, dedicated leader we look for in a board member. He'll do a great job."

Established in 1937, Ducks Unlimited has conserved more than 12 million acres thanks to contributions from more than a million supporters across the continent. Guided by science and dedicated to program efficiency, DU works toward the vision of wetlands sufficient to fill the skies with waterfowl today, tomorrow, and forever.
