Special 75th Anniversary Gifts
Clicking here will enable you to become a member, upgrade your membership or gift a membership to friends and family members – the wetlands and waterfowl conservation and membership benefits make it a no-brainer. But what else can we all do to further the cause we all care for so passionately?
Here are a few ideas:
As a recipient of this newsletter – you already have exposure to the work we do here at DU. Why not also share this story with others who share your passion for the outdoors and conservation. Simply ‘Like' this article by clicking on the Facebook logo above. Or post your thoughts about the importance of wetlands and waterfowl conservation on your page and make others aware that regardless of their affinity for the outdoors – healthy wetlands benefits many plants, animals and all of humanity.
Attend an Event and Bring Friends
If you've never attended a local DU event, we encourage you to try it out. There are more than 4,000 DU events every year. These are well attended and there is no better way to gain an understanding of the many conservation projects underway across North America and how they impact your quality of life. Plus – the events are great fun.
None of the regional events would be possible without volunteers. The best way to appreciate the impact DU has in your area is from the perspective of a volunteer. You'll see how the cumulative efforts of our regional chapters keep DU locally relevant and also make DU the world leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation.
Introduce a Child to Ducks Unlimited
When you explain the DU mission of conservation and the impact we've had on wetlands and waterfowl to a youngster or when you gift a Greenwing Youth membership to DU, you're helping to create the next generation of conservationists. You are also creating your legacy by increasing awareness of environmental issues and their impact on our quality of life.
Most importantly, as we celebrate our 75th year
, we hope everyone reading this article can find time to get outside and enjoy the fruits of our labor. The next time you see a flock of ducks or geese overhead, please take a moment to consider that DU members and volunteers have been making a difference for waterfowl since 1937. And because of their passion and dedication, we have been able to conserve more than 12 million acres of waterfowl habitat. We couldn't have done it without you.
