Hunt via boat along the boarders of Chincoteague National
Wildlife Refuge and Assateague Island National Seashore. These
waterfowl hunts are on the eastern shore of Virginia and depart from
Chincoteague Island, Virginia. ESPN recently chose the Chincoteague
National Wildlife Refuge as #2 in the country.
Our guided duck/goose
hunts cover many miles via boat along the refuge and vast surrounding
wetlands. Your guide is a native from here and also a boat captain
& commercial fisherman. This area has a small human population with
one of the largest and most diverse waterfowl populations found
anywhere. Our hunts take place in vast expanses of coastal wetlands
along this Virginia barrier island habitat with a big variety (over 20
species) of waterfowl. We have different places to take you during the
day and plenty of blinds to accommodate you. Our blinds are located
right on the most productive marshes. This is one of the best
destinations for waterfowl in the Atlantic Flyway.
Situated
strategically within the "Atlantic Flyway", our snow goose populations
alone here can range as high as 50,000. Nearly all types of waterfowl
species exist here. Large concentrations of ducks and geese are common
throughout the season. Waterfowl hunting is legendary here because of
the refuge, its location, abundant wetlands, open water and readily
available food. Your guide/boat captain is a native of Chincoteague
Island who started waterfowl hunting here over 30 years ago (his family
has hunted and worked on the water here as commercial fishermen for
many generations). We have many blinds that boarder the refuge at
Assateague and other places all around Chincoteague.
You will hunt in
prime locations that provide an enjoyable waterfowl hunting experience.
Our hunts are full day hunts from sunrise until sunset ($190 per day).
We do our best to serve you. Discount hotel accommodations this time of
year. Dogs are welcome. People of all ages or experience are welcome.
