Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge
The replacement of two existing water control structures at Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge was completed in late September. Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge is located in Milton, Delaware and encompasses over 10,000 acres of valuable habitat including freshwater impoundments and tidal salt marshes. The new replacement structures will be used to better manage the water levels in the 200 acre Unit IV impoundment located in the southeastern portion of the refuge. This pool receives a large percentage of waterfowl as well as provides ideal habitat for thousands of migrating shorebirds.
