The Gulf Coast Joint Venture is collaborating with Louisiana State University and Texas A&M University – Kingsville to conduct a three-year study of mottled duck seasonal survival, habitat use, and movements across its range in coastal Texas and Louisiana. Research activities are being conducted by two Ph.D. students, one each at LSU and TAMUK. Data collected from this study will be used to evaluate and strengthen conservation efforts for mottled ducks.
