Ducks Unlimited's conservation activities are firmly rooted in science. The research conducted by DU scientists and our partners generates new information to help us understand the needs and dynamics of waterfowl populations. We also study the ecological functions of waterfowl habitats to determine conservation strategies that will restore and maintain healthy and productive habitats. Using GIS technologies, we can monitor landscape changes and assess the impact and progress of our conservation efforts. Armed with this information we focus our conservation and public policy efforts where they will have the greatest impact on waterfowl and people.
