Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives began to debate H.R. 2584, the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for FY 2012. While the House began the process of voting on over 200 amendments filed for this legislation, U.S. Rep. Mike Simpson of Idaho announced that further consideration of H.R. 2584 will most likely be delayed until the fall. The reason for the delay was due to negotiations and a floor debate on raising the federal debt limit.
