Issue responsibility changes at DU's Governmental Affairs Office


February 21, 2013 – In order to increase our effectiveness; enhance our coordination with Ducks Unlimited directors of operations; and, through them, the states; and strengthen our public policy analysis capability, we have reorganized DU's Governmental Affairs Office (GAO) staff portfolios.

Gary Taylor (gtaylor@ducks.org), Director of Governmental Affairs:

Overall coordination and strategic direction for public policy; GAO staff supervision; North American Wetlands Conservation Act authorization; Clean Water Act, including statute, regulations and policy; lead with federal executive branch agency political appointees; principle lead with all federal agencies at the political appointee level; member of the Chiefs’ Team and Conservation Leadership Team; and principle liaison with DU directors of operations

Farm Bill lead; Federal tax provisions for conservation and charitable giving; Great Lakes restoration; Hunting issues; Biofuels; Appropriations; congressional liaison for DU's Great Lakes/Atlantic Region; and liaison with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and Farm Service Agency and Corps of Engineers
