For more than 20 years, NAWCA has served as a bipartisan, cost-effective way to conserve vital wetlands across the nation. For every dollar invested in the program, an average of 3.2 additional dollars is raised to match the federal share by non-federal entities. However, federal budget constraints have jeopardized the program's future funding. In an effort to secure future funding for NAWCA, DU has launched a campaign to highlight the importance of NAWCA's conservation efforts and its economic benefits. A central component of this campaign centers on DU volunteers and members reaching out to their members of Congress.
"Waterfowl don't have a voice unless DU supporters speak up," said DU CEO, Dale Hall. "These fly-ins serve as one avenue for DU volunteers to be heard by heard by Congress."
