Ducks Unlimited leaders and volunteers traveled to Washington, D.C., earlier this month to discuss the critical role wetlands conservation programs play throughout the nation. The group, which included several DU senior board members as well as members of the DU Conservation Programs Committee, met with several congressional and federal agency representatives.

Ducks Unlimited uses these meetings, which are also commonly referred to as fly-ins, as a way to connect members of Congress with DU volunteers from their districts and states. 

"These meetings are great opportunity to show my members of Congress how important conservation programs are to our home state," said DU volunteer John Newman, who serves as Ducks Unlimited's first vice president. "Not only are we able to promote critical waterfowl issues to senators and representatives, but we are also able to promote DU as a whole."
