DU Priority Areas
Abstract:
Ducks Unlimited (DU) Board of Directors approved priority areas for conservation easements and land acquisitions. These regions are very important to DU's habitat restoration and enhancement. Priority Areas verified on 8/16/06 and revised and attributed on 10/10/06. Then it was revised in January 2007 again to include American and Sutter River Basin priority area. Then it was revised in June 2008 to change American and Sutter River Basins to Sacramento Valley, delete McPherson and include Jamestown focus area. It was revised in August 2008 to delete North Platte Region, South Platte Region and San Luis Valley Region priority areas, and include Platte River Flood Plain priority area.
Purpose:
Priority areas are designated by DU Board for acquiring conservation easements and land acquisitions without going through three board committees for approval. Only DU's internal board reviews any new easements or acquisitions in priority areas.
