It's the little things in Conservation that often make the BIG difference.....

........and these little things can be as small as picking up some litter or being mindful of our impact on the world around us, but they can make all the difference in the world. One of those little things that is making a tremendous difference to North America’s waterfowl populations that we do year round here in Alabama is show our support for Ducks Unlimited with our Alabama Ducks Unlimited afinity license plates. This ‘little thing’ is the most successful license plate program in the country, having generated to date over $2.1 million dollars for wetlands and upland nesting cover across North America.

If you are familiar with DU’s ability to leverage dollars by finding matching monies in these efforts, you will understand how that ‘little thing’ does very quickly mean $3, $4 even $5 million dollars of conservation work on the all important breeding grounds, doing vitally important work in this threatened landscape to insure waterfowl, today, tomorrow and forever. But we need your help, demand for dollars on the prairies is far greater than we can meet, landowners are lined up to sign up for these important programs but no dollars are available. We need more of these ‘little things’ (tags) on the roads in Alabama and that is why I am writing you..

If you do not have one, or if you have a second vehicle you could put one on, please consider the drive down to the Court House (or where ever in your county you obtain new plates) and ask for a Ducks Unlimited license plate. That drive maybe the $40 ‘little thing’ that changes your morning from good to great next season.
