DU Chapter Spotlight: South Central Kansas Chapter

South Central Kansas Chapter committee members have led by example, pulling together to host six events in 2007, earning them the 2007 Presidential Citation award.

With a tight-knit group of committee members from the surrounding area, South Central Chapter was able to hold six events last year, including a banquet, waterfowl hunters’ party, golf tournament, poker run, shrimp boil and a shoot.

"We have 32 people on the committee and we really hustle when it comes time to get donated items," said Jim Vincent, South Central Kansas Chapter chairman. "Everyone just takes what they are good at and runs in that direction. We have some guys who are great ticket sellers and others who are good at getting items donated so we raise our bottom line. That's what makes us so successful, a hardworking and eager committee."
