The Corbin Island wetland restoration project site is located just downstream from the Raystown Lake Dam near Huntingdon, PA. The project comes just four months past the signing of a national Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Ducks Unlimited. The purpose of the MOU is to provide a foundation for collaboration related to protection, restoration, and/or management of selected wetlands and associated uplands of mutual interest within the context of the Corps’ civil works mission. The Corbin Island restoration project restored six acres of emergent wetlands and an additional 13 acres of native warm season grasses for the benefit of waterfowl and numerous other species of wildlife.
