Private Lands Program—Statewide
In 2006, DU partnered with the Ohio Division of Wildlife to contribute funding toward the Divison’s Private Lands Wetland Restoration Program. The Division uses these funds statewide, to provide financial assistance to landowners who restore wetlands on private lands. With just 10 percent of Ohio’s remaining wetlands located on public land, waterfowl depend on habitat provided by private landowners to meet many of their life cycle needs. This year, the Division completed 55 projects in 30 counties, restoring and enhancing more than 500 acres of wetlands.
