Sarah Williams is currently pursuing an M.F.A. degree as a first year painting and drawing student at the University of North Texas in Denton. Last year she graduated summa cum laude from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri with a B.F.A. degree. In 2001 Williams won ‘Best of Show’ in the Missouri Jr. Duck Stamp contest with an entry of a Hooded Merganser drake. This entry went on to take third place in the National Junior Duck Stamp contest.
Her artwork has been accepted into juried shows around the state of Missouri such as The Four State College Salon Art Showcase, Women in the Arts Art Show, The Columbia Art League Intercollegiate Showcase, and the St. Louis Artists Guild’s Young Artist’s Showcase where she won the ‘Muriel Brautigam Memorial Prize’ in 2004.
While attending WWU, Williams participated in the Mentor/Mentee Program with Professor Terry Martin and had a traveling art exhibit based on wildlife art. Williams is a member of the Northern Missouri Arts Council based in Marceline and taught a drawing class in the summer of 2006. |
