Federal Duck Stamp Returns to Memphis Next Week

Volunteer Now to Help!

Ducks Unlimited is hosting the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service’s Federal Duck Stamp Contest again this year. The art entries go on display Monday, Sept. 25 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Memphis College of Art at Overton Park. The contest begins Friday evening, Oct. 6 at 6:00 p.m. with round 1. The final rounds begin Saturday morning, Oct. 7 at 9 a.m., with the winner chosen by 1 p.m. The winning art will be the federal duck stamp that goes on sale in July 2007. The contest is free and open to the public. Volunteer today!

Meet last year’s winner, Sherrie Russell Meline, and five-time winner, Maynard Reece, at a free panel discussion on Friday, Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. at Memphis College of Art.

Free Decoy Appraisal

Get your old waterfowl decoys appraised by the experts at Guyette & Schmidt. Free appraisals take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday (Oct. 5-7) from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Memphis College of Art.

Looking for a Fun Event for Your Family?

Join us on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Memphis College of Art (1930 Poplar Ave. in Overton Park) for our FREE Family Day celebrating Conservation Through Art and the Federal Duck Stamp Contest! We’ll have duck calling lessons from the experts at Primos Hunting Calls, fun art projects and wildlife conservation activities, a live performance of Voices of the South’s The Ugly Duckling, and a special appearance by the famous Peabody Ducks. Refreshments and free duck calls provided while supplies last. Sponsored by Ducks Unlimited, the Greater Memphis Arts Council and Memphis College of Art. We look forward to seeing you!
