"Be a Sponsor - Save an Acre"

About 10% of Missouri’s Ducks Unlimited members answer the call to become a sponsor.  While the contribution of every Ducks Unlimited member is important, some are crucial.  It costs DU about $250 to restore one acre of wetland habitat.  By becoming a DU sponsor, your annual contribution has helped DU and its’ partners to conserve an acre.  What a great gift for future generations to enjoy!

Since Ducks Unlimited’s 1937 fledgling year, you have helped DU and its’ partners to conserve over 11 million acres throughout North America, an astonishing accomplishment! The Missouri DU conservation record is also extraordinary. Since 1985, around 100,000 acres of habitat have been conserved with DU expenditures, on Missouri projects, totaling nearly $8 million dollars!

2006 Missouri Ducks Unlimited Sponsor Print and Stamp

“Missouri Mallards”, by Kathy Dickson, represents the final print in a series of 4 habitat prints with matching stamps.  Each print represents the habitat types that Ducks Unlimited strives to restore in Missouri.  This year’s print represents wetlands on private lands and depicts a pair of mallards landing in a corn stubble field somewhere in Missouri.

Missouri has lost 90% of its original wetland acreage, and most of what remains is in private ownership. Working with Missouri landowners will be the key in continuing to restore Missouri’s wetland habitat.

The DU/private landowner partnership is made, in part, possible by your contribution! We hope that you will enjoy this collector’s piece and display it as our way of saying, “Thanks for all you do”!
