"Be a Sponsor - Save an Acre"

About 10% of Missouri’s Ducks Unlimited members answer the call to become a sponsor.  While the contribution of every Ducks Unlimited member is important, some are crucial.  It costs DU about $250 to restore one acre of wetland habitat.  By becoming a DU sponsor, your annual contribution has helped DU and its’ partners to conserve an acre.  What a great gift for future generations to enjoy!

Since Ducks Unlimited’s 1937 fledgling year, you have helped DU and its’ partners to conserve over 10.5 million acres throughout North America, an astonishing accomplishment! The Missouri DU conservation record is also extraordinary. Since 1985, around 100,000 acres of habitat have been conserved with DU expenditures, on Missouri projects, totaling nearly $8 million dollars!

Support Missouri’s DU conservation efforts by becoming or continuing to be a Sponsor.  Remember, "Be A Sponsor – Save An Acre"

2004 Missouri Ducks Unlimited Sponsor Print and Stamp

Habitat Series - Forested Wetlands

“Woodies at Duck Creek”, by Kathy Dickson, represents the second in a series of 4 habitat prints with matching stamps.  Each print will represent the habitat types that Ducks Unlimited strives to restore in Missouri.  This year’s print represents forested wetlands and depicts a pair of Wood Ducks loafing among the flooded timber of the ‘Wade & Shoot’ area of the Missouri Department of Conservation, Duck Creek Conservation Area.  This tract of bottomland timber is representative of what was once a predominate feature of Southeastern Missouri waterfowl habitat.  Missouri has lost 98% of this SE habitat type and of the 2.4 million original forested lowland wetland acres, less than 60,000 acres remain.

The DU/MDC conservation partnership is made, in part, possible by your contribution!

We hope that you will enjoy this collector’s piece and display it as our way of saying, “Thanks for all you do”!

All sponsors paid through the Missouri events system will receive the print& stamp unframed. For more information please contact a DU staff member.

Riggs Building Supply has once again graciously underwritten the cost of the Missouri Sponsor Print. Riggs Supply has been a constant DU supporter for over 40 years and has sponsored the MO print for the last 8 years. The Riggs company has stores in Southeast Missouri, Arkansas and Tennessee, with their home office in Kennett, MO. Missouri DU would like to thank the Riggs family and all of our sponsors for their generous support over the years.
