Oregon's New State Chairman
My name is Ed May and I have just become the 29th Chairman of Ducks Unlimited for Oregon. Thomas E. Young was the first Oregon Ducks Unlimited Chairman and the year was 1938. We have grown so much since that time but the mission remains the same…to restore and protect wetlands, ensuring full skies forever.
My State Chairman predecessor, Paul Boehne, accomplished a great deal in his two year term. In May of this year Oregon Ducks Unlimited was one of only two states in the country to receive Ducks Unlimited’s “Gold Award” at the National Convention in Baltimore. The hundreds of Ducks Unlimited volunteers in Oregon truly set a high standard to follow under Paul’s leadership.

My introduction to Ducks Unlimited came nine years ago when a friend invited me to a committee meeting. I went but didn’t know what to expect. What I found was a room full of dedicated conservation-minded people; I realized that Ducks Unlimited was for me. Since that time I continue to have fun, meet new people, and support Ducks Unlimited with its critical waterfowl habitat work.
