Virginia Getz and AnnieVirginia Getz is the manager of conservation programs for Ducks Unlimited's Western Regional Office in Rancho Cordova, Calif. She oversees DU's wetland conservation program in Nevada, Utah and the Sacramento Valley and Intermountain West portions of California.

Virginia has more than 25 years' experience as a professional wildlife biologist. She has a passion for waterfowl and wetlands and joined the DU team in 2000. Prior to coming to work for DU, she was employed by a private consulting firm, a private utility company, a conservation district, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Forest Service. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology from the University of California–Davis and is a Certified Wildlife Biologist (The Wildlife Society).

Virginia is an avid waterfowl and upland game bird hunter who loves spending time in the field and blind with her golden retriever, Annie. She is a third-generation native Californian who well understands the sense of urgency in DU's conservation work. She welcomes the challenge of working to protect our resources and preserve our hunting heritage in one of the most important and most threatened areas for waterfowl and wetlands in the continent.
