FY04 New Mexico Conservation Program Accomplishments (07/01/03 - 06/30/04):
Enhanced / Restored = 100 acres Technical Assistance = 100 acres
1. Planning design and contracting has been completed on the final phases of the Middle Rio Grande NAWCA grant project. The grant is providing $1 mill in funding and an additional $2.2 mill in matching contributions. The project will restore 2,637 acres of wetland habitat. Work scheduled for completion in FY05 includes wetland restoration and water delivery at Sevilleta NWR, and wetland restoration at the City of Albuqurque site and Santa Ana Pueblos. Restoration was completed on 100 acres with the Santa Ana Pueblos in FY04. Plans are underway and a proposal being drafted for Middle Rio Grande Phase II.
