An RSS feed allows you to stay on top of the latest blog entries from Ducks Unlimited's bloggers.
What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a convenient way for us to syndicate information from the Ducks Unlimited blogs. By monitoring our RSS feed, you can quickly stay up to date on the latest blog entries - and best of all, it's free.
Most individuals take advantage of an RSS Reader. An RSS Reader monitors the DU blogs for you, and lets you know immediately when a new entry has been posted. If you already have an RSS Reader installed, then you are ready to take advantage of DU's RSS feeds immediately. If you use a Mac, then you may already have an RSS Reader installed with Safari.
How Do I Use RSS?
When you see the orange button 
, then it means you can subscribe to receive content via your RSS Reader for that particular channel. There are many free RSS readers, and it is up to you to determine which one you would like to use. Some readers require installation, while others are pure Web based. Newer version Internet browsers have built in RSS readers.
Once your reader is installed, it's usually as easy as clicking on the orange RSS button to subscribe to the feed. Consult the help file for the reader you have chosen to find out the best way to subscribe to a feed.
- Install the RSS Reader of your choice.
- Visit the blog of your choice and look for the orange RSS button.
- Right mouse click on the RSS icon and choose Copy Shortcut.
- Open your RSS Reader, and paste the URL into the "New Feed" or "Add Feed" box of your RSS Reader.
- You may have to refresh or "Get" for the reader to start the feed.
- RSS Readers have the option to set time intervals in which you want to check for updates on a particular feed. You can change this based on how frequently you want to check for updates.
