Lackey Pond Project
Worchester County, Massachusetts

The project located on the Mumford River, near Uxbridge, in Worchester County was dedicated in fall 2000 in the memory of the late Rocky Bridges, former state Director of the Division of Fish and Wildlife and DU staff Regional Director and MARSH Coordinator. This 150-acre wetland project will benefit waterfowl such as black ducks, mallards and teal as well as many other water birds and wildlife.

More than 100 DU supporters and friends of Rocky were on hand for the tribute. A number of dignitaries spoke in Rocky's honor including Masschusetts Secretary of the Environment , Bob Durand, state Director of the Division of Fish and Wildlife, Wayne Macallum and former DU executive Vice President Matt Connolly. DU state Co-Chairman, Nancy and Ralph Aldridge presided over the ceremony. Hats off to all the DU volunteers and staff that made this event special for all those who attended.
