FOWL FACTS
LOW RETURNS - From 1902 to 2002, more than 63 million birds—largely waterfowl—have been banded in North America. Of these banded birds, 3.5 million (5.5 percent) have been recovered and reported to wildlife officials.
OVERCOMING ADVERSITY - Despite harsh conditions on their breeding grounds, populations of lesser snow and Ross's geese continue to climb and have recently been estimated to collectively number more than 4 million birds.
STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT - When they are first born, puppies can do very little on their own. A puppy begins to develop its hearing, vision, sense of smell and walking skills during its third and fourth weeks.
