Tom Fulgham, Editor-in-Chief
Tom has been editor-in-chief of Ducks Unlimited since 1997. He served as editor of American Hunter for 14 years before joining the DU staff and has nearly 30 years of experience in magazine publishing. He is a native of Virginia's Tidewater region and a lifelong waterfowler. Check out Tom's Blog.
Matt Young, Executive Editor
The longest-standing member of the Ducks Unlimited magazine staff, executive editor Matt Young has published more than 100 articles on waterfowling and conservation topics in this magazine and other publications.
He also is the editor and principal writer of DU's award-winning annual magazine, Conservation, and edited the highly popular DU book, 161 Waterfowling Secrets, which has sold more than 20,000 copies since it was first published in 1994. Check out Matt's Blog.
Gary Koehler, Senior DU Writer
A native of North Central Illinois, Gary Koehler grew up in the historic Illinois River Valley, where legendary duck clubs, decoy carvers and call makers abound. Since joining the Ducks Unlimited staff in 1987, Koehler has hunted waterfowl in 28 states and Canada. A former reporter, columnist and newspaper editor, Koehler has won more than 25 state, regional and national writing/editing awards. Dale Humburg, DU Chief Biologist
Dale Humburg's waterfowl education began with his dad in a duck boat in 1955. He received his bachelor's degree from Iowa State University and his master's from Michigan State University. The majority of his professional career was as a wetland and waterfowl research biologist with the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC). Humburg retired after 30 years with the MDC to begin another career in September 2007, as Ducks Unlimited's chief biologist.
Will Brantley, Staff Writer
Will Brantley is the associate editor and newest staff member of Ducks Unlimited Magazine. An avid waterfowler, he particularly enjoys hunting major river systems. He’s also an obsessive bowhunter, turkey hunter and angler. Brantley graduated from Murray State University in 2005 with a degree in print journalism and has written hundreds of hunting and fishing articles for various magazines, newspapers and Web sites. Aaron Fraser Pass, Shotgunning Specialist
Aaron Fraser Pass is a native of, and resides in, northern Georgia. He started his outdoor career writing for Outdoors in Georgia, the agency publication of the Georgia DNR. Since, he has been an editor and written free lance articles for most major outdoor and sporting publications. Currently he is a full-time free lance writer specializing in technical sporting firearms topics. Pass has hunted waterfowl in all four flyways, including the states of Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota and California.
