Ducks
Unlimited, Inc. (DU) has long recognized that maintaining North
America's waterfowl populations requires conservation well beyond U.S.
borders. Indeed, migratory birds present one of the greatest
conservation challenges on Earth. Responsible stewardship of these
species often requires conservation of habitats from the boreal forest
of Canada to the tropical mangrove swamps of Venezuela and numerous
points between and beyond.
The Latin American and Caribbean Program was established in 1999 to develop wetland and waterfowl conservation projects in the region. Ducks Unlimited closed the program in August 2007. The Program´s results can be viewed on the following pages:

Unlimited, Inc. (DU) reconoce desde hace tiempo, que para mantener las
poblaciones de aves acuáticas es necesario implementar medidas de
conservación más allá de las fronteras de los EE.UU. De hecho, las aves
migratorias constituyen uno de los retos más grandes para la
conservación en nuestro planeta. A menudo, y con el fin de conservar
estas aves de una forma adecuada, es necesario aplicar medidas de
conservación en los hábitat que ocupan , desde los "potholes" de las
praderas del Canadá hasta los manglares de Venezuela, así como otros
numerosos humedales entre ellos y más al sur.
El Programa para América Latina y el Caribe se estableció en 1999 con el fin de desarrollar proyectos de conservación de humedales y aves acuáticas en la región. Ducks Unlimited ha cerrado el Programa en agosto 2007, y los resultados pueden ser consultados en las siguientes páginas:
