Haiti received funding from Ducks Unlimited from 2002-2007.

As not much is known about Haitian wetlands, the first collaborating season was basically dedicated to explore and identify possible valuable habitat for waterfowl species, being the 2003-2004 season the first one carrying out surveys.

A common feature to these wetlands is the fact that they show a deep human alteration, and on the other hand, none of them is under any protection framework. 

Some Haitian wetlands happen to be shared by the Dominican Republic, as Saumâtre Lagoon, the largest salt water wetland in the country.

Haití ha recibido financiamiento de Ducks Unlimited, Inc. desde 2002.

Dado de que no existe mucha información sobre los humedales del país, la primera temporada de trabajo de campo se dedicó básicamente a explorar e identificar hábitat de valor para las anátidas, siendo la temporada 2003-2004 la de comienzo de los conteos propriamente dichos.

Un rasgo común de estos humedales es que se encuentran sometidos a una profunda alteración humana y ninguno de ellos goza de figura de protección oficial alguna.

Algunos son compartidos con la República Dominicana, como en el caso del Lago Saumâtre, el humedal de agua salada más extenso del país.
