Mud Creek Wildlife Management Area
Purpose: DU partnered with the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries on the purchase and installation of a new dewatering system at Mud Creek WMA. The new system will give the staff of Mud Creek Wildlife Management Area greater flexibility in managing water on the 185-acre unit, and will afford staff the ability to implement a moist soil - hot crop forage rotation. DU and the ADCNR each contributed $25,000 toward the project.
Location: Mud Creek WMA covers 8,193 acres in Jackson County near Scottsboro
