Karen L. Wood

Karen L. Wood is the Alabama State Chair of Ducks Unlimited. She is married to Wayne, and they have two daughters and five grandchildren.
Karen began her DU career 20 years ago serving as a committee member for the Huntsville chapter in 1988 and has continued to serve on a local committee since. She has served as the Alabama DU State Secretary from 1998-2008 along with handling the state merchandise since 1996. Karen also has served as a State Representative, National Delegate, and a District Chair. Karen and her husband Wayne became a Life Sponsor in 1999.
Karens' duties as a leader in the community extends outside the DU family as well. She has served as Lector at St. Paul's Cathloic Church, was a member on the board of the Chamber of Commerce in Athens and the AREDA Architectural Control Committee, and organized the Southern Rays Corvette Club in 1976 as well her local Homeowners Association in 1979. Karen also had the opportunity to sit on the Alabama State School Review Board from 2003-2005. She also has her own business, KARE Packaging, Inc, a Corrugated Box Manufacturer.
Karen is proud to hold her past volunteer positions for Alabama Ducks Unlimited and is honored to be the first woman State Chair for the state. She plans to bring Alabama to greater heights in the next two years.
